DATAShape: NASA PDS Gaskell Phobos Shape Model V1.0 (DOI 10.26033/xzv5-bw95), prepared by R. Gaskell in 2006 from 232 Viking Orbiter 1 and Phobos 2 images; listed by NASA as US public domain. Its vertices are a model reconstructed from those images, not individually surveyed points. GLOBAL MAP and the far field use the Q=128 model (196,608 triangles); the drivable region uses the native Q=512 triangles (19,878 in the region), with vertices about 32 m apart — a grid spacing, not a measurement resolution. Between vertices the ground is the flat model triangle (planar interpolation inside each native facet), so relief smaller than the grid is absent and the accuracy at rover scale (metres) is unknown. The bundle states 456 landmarks with a formal position uncertainty of 18 m per axis and an RMS residual of 25 m, but includes no coverage or confidence map, so how well this particular region is constrained is unknown; none is invented here. Kilometres from the source are converted once to metres (1 sim unit = 1 m); nothing is smoothed, filled or flattened.
SCENARIOPick one in MISSION OBJECTIVES — SURVEY ROUTE: visit survey points A→B→C in order · SAMPLE RETURN: collect both samples, then return to the start · HAZARD TRAVERSE: cross the rough terrain belt to the station · FREE DRIVE: no objectives, no scoring. The active goal also shows under the scenario selector.
OBJECTIVEReach the marked sites while managing slope risk and battery; a deterministic scorecard grades the run.

GLOBAL PHOBOS MAP
The irregular Phobos shape model (NASA PDS Gaskell, Q=128 model triangles), drawn from the model itself; no sphere or ellipsoid stands in for it. Drag to rotate. The cyan square is the one validated drivable region on the floor of Stickney; the amber arrow marks +X, the side of Phobos that always faces Mars.
Shape model: NASA PDS Gaskell Phobos Shape Model (2006; reconstructed from Viking Orbiter 1 and Phobos 2 images; US public domain). Regolith grain and shading, illustrative boulders, light, sky, Mars and the fictional rover are synthetic. Educational exploration only; not mission planning, and not MMX imagery or operations.
